Tree planting in Cheshire
Total Refrigeration Limited, the UK’s number one branded ice cream freezer supplier, has a relationship with the Woodland Trust where for every freezer that they have recycled a tree is planted – over 8,300 trees have been planted to date. As part of Total Refrigeration’s commitment to the Woodland Trust, a small team from the office help to plant trees each year – this was our third year and it was time to help at the Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre & Countryside Park.
Set in 50 acres in the heart of the beautiful Cheshire countryside, Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre & Countryside Park is the home of the internationally renowned Cotebrook Shire Horse Stud and have been breeding prize winning Shires for over 35 years and they form the centrepiece of the Centre.
As well as Shire horses there are also a fantastic selection of British animals & birdlife both wild & domesticated – including Shetland Pony, Large Black Pigs, Aberdeen Angus Cattle, Birds of prey, Red Deer, Red Foxes and Red Squirrels, Polecats and Otters.
The Centre had a field that they wanted to turn into a forest and so approached the Woodland Trust for a tree donation. The Woodland Trust supplied them with 1,500 trees of a number of varieties and the team from Total Refrigeration turned up to help plant some of them.
Mr Alistair King of the Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre said, ‘This is fantastic for us – to get these tree’s and help planting them is more than we thought we would get. We are very thankful to both the Woodland Trust and Total Refrigeration Limit for their help with this. We are going to put up a plaque in this field thanking them for their kind help.’.
