Total Refrigeration donation helps to bring donkeys and children with special needs together.
Total Refrigeration have donated £2,000 to the Manchester centre of the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys (EST) based in Debdale Park, Abbey Hey.
The centre opened in 2004 and provides donkey-riding therapy to children with special needs and disabilities. Those children that attend have a wide range of disabilities; some have learning difficulties, others are physically disadvantaged or have behavioral problems, brain damage or sensory impairment. Over 150 children attend every week.
The work they undertake with the children is not only a joyful experience that they get from riding them but also helps to develop co-ordination and overall development.
Debbie Coombes of EST says ‘The centre is completely dependant on donations to keep us going. We have a number of fundraising initiatives through the year and there are donkeys that can also be sponsored but to have a big donation like this from a local company means that we can continue to provide these services for the disadvantaged children.’.
Stuart Grimshaw, Marketing Manager for Total Refrigeration stated ‘Its important to be able to support the less well known charities that are often overlooked – I’m proud that Total refrigeration are able to support them as they provide fantastic support for the children that attend.’.
